The WPAN gateway and range extender use a multi-channel frequency hopping spread spectrum radio that operates in the unlicensed 902 to 928 MHz frequency ISM band for North America, or in subsets of the 902 to 928 MHz frequency band in other regulatory domains. The specific frequency band and channel representation for each supported regulatory domain are shown in the tables in this section. The WPAN gateway and range extender use frequency limiting firmware with a “channel notching” feature to restrict transmitting in channels outside of the allowable frequency band for each specific regulatory domain.

For the FCC and IC regulatory domains, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 902 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 64 radio frequency (RF) channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-10 .
Brazilian Regulatory Domain Channel Plan
For the Brazil regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 902 to 907.5 MHz band and the 915 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 45 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-11 .
Hong Kong Regulatory Domain Channel Plan
For the Hong Kong regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 920 to 925 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 11 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-12 .
Australia/New Zealand Regulatory Domain Channel Plan
For the Australia and New Zealand regulatory domains, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 915 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 32 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-13 .

This system has been evaluated for RF exposure for humans in reference to ANSI C 95.1 (American National Standards Institute) limits. The evaluation was based on ANSI C 95.1 and FCC OET Bulletin 65C rev 01.01. The minimum separation distance from the antenna to general bystander is 9 inches (23 cm) to maintain compliance.
