A cable modem intermittent connectivity issue (flapping) might lead to a cdman memory leak on the cBR-8 protect line card. This issue is specific to cBR-8 Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.18.0S while there is a line card redundancy in place.
These repeated alarms are observed in the logs triggered by the cBR-8 protect line card:
> Jul 3 23:30:03.775 EDT: %IOSXE-3-PLATFORM: CLC0: cdman: CDMINFRA CDM_PT_MEMORY_TEST SANITY TEST FAILED
> Jul 3 23:31:03.775 EDT: %IOSXE-3-PLATFORM: CLC0: cdman: CDMINFRA CDM_PT_MEMORY_TEST SANITY TEST FAILED
> Jul 3 23:32:03.775 EDT: %IOSXE-3-PLATFORM: CLC0: cdman: CDMINFRA CDM_PT_MEMORY_TEST SANITY TEST FAILED
Cisco recommends that customers upgrade to Cisco IOS XE 3.18.0SP or a later release which contains the fix. Refer to this table for more information:
