CSCun18933 | Nexus 6004: Switch hang due to PCIe issue |
The Nexus 6004 switch might hang with no response from the mgmt0 interface and console ports.
There is an insufficient design margin in the PCIe circuitry of the Nexus N6K-C6004-96Q(=) and N6K-C6004(=) switches which over time might result in switch degradation and ultimately a failure state. The switch might also not respond on mgmt0 interface and console ports.
A switch reload might temporarily resolve the failure state, but will not resolve the underlying hardware (HW) issues.
This issue is seen in Nexus 6004 switches with Top Assembly Numbers (TANs) 68-4623-01, 68-4623-03, and 68-4148-01.
This issue does not affect Nexus 6001 switches.
These symptoms might be seen:

If you experience the symptoms described in the previous section, verify whether the switch is impacted per the Impacted Switches table and the instructions in the How to Identify Affected Products section. If the unit is impacted, request a Return Material Authorization (RMA) for Fix on Failure.
