CSCus89837 | IOM pwrmgr is excessively logging "error: Invalid argument" |
Due to a software timing issue with the UCSB-PSU-2500ACDV and UCSB-PSU-2500HVDC Power Supply Unit (PSU), messages that indicate a power supply problem might inaccurately appear.
Note: This message is cosmetic.
A time-out of the PSU is insufficient to accommodate the internal communication link. This results in an erroneous transaction result.
There is no functional or operational impact when the error is reported.
The updated software provides a defensive mechanism that only allows this fault to be reported after three consecutive invalid transactions.
In the IO Module (IOM) pwrmgr logs for the chassis, these error messages have been observed:

On the Cisco Unified Computing Server Manager (UCSM), customers will observe a PSU fault F0391 for voltage (upper non-recoverable and lower non-recoverable).
In order to avoid this issue, Cisco recommends that users upgrade their systems to Version 2.2(3g) or later.
Note: Version 3.0 does not have this issue.
