Problem Description

The system is not correctly interpreting the board version information in the EEPROM on the CHOC12-DS3 linecard.

Background

The product version number that is programmed into the EEPROM on the CHOC12-DS3 linecard is interpreted as invalid by the Cisco IOS. This is strictly a cosmetic issue and has no other impact.

This defect has Cisco bug ID CSCdk93103 (registered customers only) .

Problem Symptoms

The following message will be displayed at the end of a show version command output.

WARNING:  Old EE_MAIN_PCA in slot n

Contact your technical support representative.

Workaround/Solution

This is only a cosmetic issue and no workaround is necessary. The operation of the linecard is not affected in any way because of this message.

The issue has been resolved in Cisco IOS versions 11.2(15)GS3.2 and later.
