A vulnerability in the web based administration interface of the Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against the user of a web interface.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of a parameter in multiple pages used by the web interface. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to access a malicious link.
Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice and released software updates.
To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link.
