Reimagining workspaces for hybrid work

The pandemic dramatically accelerated the evolution of digital technologies, and workplace transformation is at the epicenter of this metamorphosis. As employees make their way back to the office, several key considerations come to mind—safety, well-being, and flexibility—as well as the ability to get work done. On the other hand, enterprises are faced with new challenges such as reconfiguring their workspaces for hybrid work, ensuring that buildings are safe, monitoring real estate utilization, and delivering positive employee experiences.

An exciting opportunity lies ahead—to reimagine our workspaces by making them safer, smarter, sustainable. And to make the hybrid work experience seamless. Cisco Smart Workspaces, the latest offering from Cisco Spaces, is Cisco’s next stride in the evolution of the modern workplace.

Cisco Smart Workspaces brings together the power of the Cisco portfolio, including Catalyst, Meraki, and Webex, to create safer, smarter workplaces that empower hybrid work. It equips facilities, IT, employees, and guests with tools to visualize and monitor real estate utilization and make improved, data-driven decisions to promote space adoption and optimization.

What it does

Rich employee and guest experiences: Cisco Smart Workspaces transforms flat floorplans into dynamic, interactive, 3D maps. These maps can be used on WebEx Boards and a variety of other digital signages to provide contextual awareness, easily locate empty meeting rooms and desks, and find important points of interest.

Safety and well-being: Employees and guests can easily access real-time occupancy and environmental information (indoor air quality, volatile organic compounds, temperature, humidity, noise levels, etc.) across a specific building, floor, or meeting room. IT and facilities teams can monitor occupancy and air quality in real time, set alerts, and respond immediately when safety thresholds are crossed.

Employee productivity: Improve the employee experience and boost productivity by reducing the time spent trying to find meeting rooms and desks. Help employees visualize live meeting room and desk availability along with key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and noise levels. Temporarily hold a meeting room until you get there with the touch of a button on the digital signage.

Space utilization: IT and facilities teams can know how the workspace is being used and make informed decisions to improve its adoption. Understand utilization patterns to identify underused areas, and discover opportunities to consolidate or reconfigure underutilized space. Run an A/B test on current space to measure the impact of at-location events and layout changes.

How does this work?

Cisco Spaces captures location insights and telemetry from Cisco infrastructure deployed in your buildings. The software uses data collected from Cisco Catalyst or Meraki access points, switches, Meraki cameras, Webex endpoints, and third-party wired and wireless IoT sensors to power a location-aware rich map to enable safer, smarter, more sustainable workspaces.
