Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® CNS Configuration Engine 1.3. The last day to order the Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.3 is June 9, 2004. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until June 10, 2007.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.3. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.4, which supports the activation of customer premises equipment (CPE)-based network services through centralized, template-based configuration management. Information about the replacement product can be found at

End of Service Contract Renewal Date
The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.

Last Date of Support
The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

The recommended replacement for the Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.3 is the Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.4. Cisco CNS Configuration Engine 1.4 provides a scalable infrastructure for managing the large-scale deployment of Cisco Systems devices. It takes full advantage of the Cisco CNS Intelligent Agent technology of Cisco IOS
® Software and can manage as many as 5000 Cisco CPE products and Cisco switches.
